Directions to Banting Nursery

From the East Bank:

Cross the Huey P. Long Bridge.  Exit right immediately.  Go one block to 6th Street and turn right.  Stay on 6th Street (it veers a little to the left) to the River Road (about 3 blocks). We are in the 1st block on the right.

**Due to ongoing construction on the Huey P. Long Bridge, traffic pattern may vary from above on a short-term basis. If you should find yourself diverted from the above, please call 436-4343 for up-to-minute instructions.

Instructions avoiding the Huey P. Long Bridge:

From the East Bank using the Crescent City Connection:
Follow the elevated Expressway (Business 90) to Barataria Blvd. (exit #4B) and turn RIGHT onto Barataria Blvd.  It will come to an end at the River Road.  Turn LEFT onto River Road.  Stay on the River Road for 7 miles. Be sure not to turn onto LA 18; just keep the levee on your right.  One half mile after you pass under the Huey P. Long Bridge, you’ll see us on the left.

Alternate route using the Crescent City Connection:
After crossing the Mississippi River, continue on the elevated expressway (Business 90) until it lets you down on ground level (approx. 9 miles).  Continue approx 3 ½ miles. Just past the Alario Center take a LEFT exit (green hwy sign says “Huey P. Long Bridge/New Orleans”).  This will merge you onto Hwy.90 East. Go over the overpass then turn LEFT at the traffic light onto River Road.  Go approx. ½ mile.  Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 541 (River Road). Go approx ¾ mile and turn LEFT at the split of Bridge City Ave. and Hwy. 541 (River Road).  Continue on River Road (with the levee on your left) 10 blocks and you will see us on the right.

From the East Bank using the Hale Boggs Bridge:
From I-10:  Exit onto I-310 (exit #220) toward Boutte.  Stay on I-310 11 ½ miles to where it ends at Hwy. 90.  Turn LEFT onto Hwy. 90 East.  Go approx. 13 ½ miles (through Boutte and Avondale) to the 90 East/Business 90 split.  Bear LEFT there (to remain on Hwy. 90 E.).  Go over the overpass and turn LEFT at the traffic light (River Road).  Go approx. 1/2 mile.  Turn RIGHT onto Hwy. 541 (River Road).  Go approx. ¾ mile and turn LEFT at the split of Bridge City Ave. and Hwy. 541 (River Road).  Continue on River Road 10 blocks (with the levee on your left) and you will see us on the right.

From the West Bank:

From Houma, Boutte, Avondale, etc.:
Go East on Hwy 90 to the 90 East/Business 90 split. Bear LEFT there (to remain on Hwy. 90 East).  Go over the overpass and turn LEFT at the traffic light onto River Road.  Go approx. ½ mile.  Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 541 (River Road).  Go approx. ¾ mile and turn LEFT at the split of Bridge City Ave. and Hwy. 541 (River Road).  Continue 10 blocks on River Road (with the levee on the left).  You will see us on the right.

From Gretna, Westwego, etc.:
Follow the appropriate section of the instructions for using the Crescent City Connection.  (Business 90 is the West Bank Expressway)
